Micro-Credentials Offer College Grads A Leg Up In A Tight Job Market

When BCSI launched in 2020, Jared Auclair was one of the few people in the country who grasped immediately what we were building and why it mattered. He didn’t just understand it; he advocated for it loudly and clearly at a time when most of the field hadn’t caught up yet.

Six years later, the data are catching up to what Jared already knew. The Coursera 2026 Micro-Credentials Impact Report, covered here in Forbes, shows that 87% of graduates with microcredentials secured field-aligned employment within a year, 83% say the credential was a significant factor in getting hired, and 94% of employers are more inclined to offer higher starting salaries to credentialed candidates. Microcredentials have moved from niche conversation to measurable workforce hiring signals.

Thank you for continuing to put this work in front of the people who need to see it, Jared. You have been an early and powerful advocate for rethinking how we train and how we hire.
